Medicare for All

Healthcare is a fundamental right in every developed nation in the world except the United States. Our platform is simple: Medicare-for-all.

We believe that healthcare is a human right, and it's time we legislated that right into existence Under the current system, healthcare coverage for the average American costs roughly $10,000 annually! For a developed nation with the best healthcare research and development in the world, our return on investment for it is appalling and pathetic.

Under the proposed Medicare for All system, a middle-class family of four will pay an average of $1,100.00! Morally and fiscally, this is the right choice.

This is not an overt attempt to quash the private industry. There are options for a blended universal healthcare system, such as Germany, where the private insurance corporations compete with the federal government, yet there is a guarantee of coverage for every citizen.

There are also fully socialized healthcare systems that work well, such Norway and our own Department of Veterans Affairs. Even with all the current problems in the system, the VA still maintains an ACSI rating of 86% - at least 9 points higher than the best private healthcare in the nation.

It will take all of us working together to make this right to healthcare a reality.

There is no reason that in the wealthiest nation in the history of the world, we cannot guarantee healthcare as a basic human right.
